Overcoming Challenges
$250.00
Overcoming Challenges is the talk I wish someone had given me in the early years after my traumatic brain injury, when every day felt like pushing a boulder uphill with a broken shovel. Back then, I did not need someone to tell me to "think positive." I needed real strategies to get through the hard days without giving up on myself.
In this presentation, I share the mindset tools and practical steps that helped me do exactly that over decades. I walk audiences through how to face a problem honestly without letting it define their whole identity, how to break big challenges into small, winnable battles, and how to keep moving when progress is slow and nobody is clapping for them.
I tell the truth about setbacks-the anger, the grief, the loneliness-and then I show how those moments can become fuel for growth instead of proof that life is over. People hear not just my story, but also real examples from advocacy work and coaching clients who turned medical issues, job loss, or personal crises into turning points.
Attendees leave with a simple "challenge game plan" they can use for whatever they are facing right now: three questions to ask themselves, one support action to take, and one daily practice to keep their mind from spiraling. The goal is not to pretend the pain is small; the goal is to remember that they are still larger than the situation.
This presentation works well for mental health events, recovery programs, schools, and workplaces where people are carrying heavy loads. I speak in plain language, with respect for every story in the room, and I always end with this message: you may be knocked down, but you are not finished.
